Hill Country, Texas

Elm Creek is an expansive Hill Country residence shaped by scale, landscape, limestone architecture, and a substantial collection of contemporary art and collectible design. Joshua Rice Design developed the interiors in direct relation to the architecture and the site, allowing broad glass walls, long views, and natural materials to establish the visual structure of the home.

The design brings a sense of intimacy to a large residence without diminishing its architectural presence. Custom furnishings, sculptural objects, and carefully placed works of art give the rooms focus and human scale. Proportion, restraint, and material continuity guide the interiors, keeping the house visually calm and structurally legible.

Stone, wood, and glass remain central throughout, with furnishings chosen to reinforce permanence and ease. The result is a private residence of significant architectural weight, one that holds art, landscape, and daily life in a clear and disciplined balance.
