A modern Dallas residence conceived as a multigenerational home, with architecture by Joshua Nimmo and interiors organized around privacy, light, and a controlled relationship to daily life. The house is structured through a series of courtyards and long sightlines, allowing light to move deeply into the plan while maintaining a sense of separation and retreat.
Joshua Rice Design approached the interiors as a continuation of that architectural framework. The focus remains on proportion, material continuity, and a disciplined placement of objects rather than layering for effect. Large wood volumes, pale stone surfaces, and expansive glazing establish a clear spatial order. Within that structure, furnishings and art are introduced with restraint, allowing each element to read with clarity.
The furniture language draws from refined contemporary pieces alongside more sculptural works, creating a subtle tension without disrupting the calm of the interiors. There is a quiet dialogue between materials, forms, and references, but it is tightly edited. Nothing feels added for emphasis. Each piece supports the overall balance of the room.
Throughout the home, circulation is intuitive and views are deliberate. The interiors maintain a consistent sense of calm while still feeling lived in and specific. The project reflects an approach where architecture, material, and furnishing are resolved together, resulting in a residence that feels grounded, private, and quietly precise.
