Travis Residence is a renovation and interiors project originally designed in the 1980s by architect Bud Oglesby, Travis was reimagined with respect for its architectural framework and a softer, more layered material language. Joshua Rice Design led the complete renovation and preserved the residence’s inherent restraint and charming ‘80s character, while introducing a calm palette to the furnishings. The result is a warm modern interior that honors the architecture without treating it as precious or untouchable.
The project reflects the studio’s interest in architectural legacy, material honesty, and quiet specificity. Rather than forcing the apartment into a new identity, the interiors clarify what was already strong, then add texture, warmth, and personal depth. The home feels refined without becoming overly embellished.
