Design Icons, Floor-to-Ceiling Windows, and 3D Technology Make this Dallas Home a True Paradise.

(Translated) By blending iconic mid-century furniture with limited-edition pieces, Joshua Rice has created a unique environment, perfectly in harmony with natural materials and light. And it was no small feat to give this house, built between 2020 and 2023 for a young family with a passion for elegance and beauty, a distinct identity.
One a finance professional, the other a yoga instructor, the couple longed for a calm and soothing environment where the color palette would play a central role. Equally crucial was designing a space that would accommodate their evolving family life. "When we started this project, they only had one child ," recalls Joshua Rice. "When they moved in, they had four, all under five years old. That changes everything."
One thing is certain: in this house, minimalism blends perfectly with a highly personal style, particularly through the materials used. Gray limestone, thermally modified laminated wood panels for enhanced durability, and stucco combine with Portuguese glass doors and windows. Every element is meticulously considered. A soothing color palette completes the ensemble, creating a serene, almost ethereal atmosphere.
“We opted for a palette of understated, natural, yet darker colors to complement the abundant light that floods the space during the day ,” explains the designer. The rich, earthy tones of the materials, such as stone and wood, create a harmonious atmosphere, underscoring the contemporary aesthetic that guides the project. The result, far from being immediately obvious, offers intimate and warm interiors, never overwhelmed by a profusion of light.
Located in East Highland Park, this Dallas home is situated in a neighborhood that blends accessibility with suburban tranquility. Custom-designed to fit a complex corner lot, it offers over 5,300 square feet of living space. Its partially open layout includes a two-level living area and five bedrooms. The ground floor features a covered outdoor living space, the kitchen and pantry, the living and dining room, the master suite, a small media room, an office, a yoga studio, and a laundry room. Upstairs, there is a living room, a second laundry room, and four bedrooms, each with its own ensuite bathroom.
