Arcady is a Highland Park residence transformed from a polished transitional spec build into a more modern and personal interior. The original architecture offered clean bones, though the house lacked definition of space and a coherent aesthetic. Joshua Rice Design used selective renovation, furnishings, lighting, art, and custom-designed pieces to give the home greater specificity.

The work focused on simplification and correction. Fireplaces were streamlined, inherited decorative elements were reduced, and traditional light fixtures were replaced with pieces more aligned with the intended architecture. Rooms were then furnished with rare vintage works, custom commissions, and emerging design voices that brought sharper character to the interiors.

The result is a residence with a cleaner and more disciplined identity, one that retains the structure of the original house but speaks in a more collected and modern language. The project demonstrates how limited intervention, applied with precision, can shift a home from generic luxury to something far more sophisticated and distinct.
